- CLIP is the most
intensive inpatient psychiatric treatment available to all
WA State residents, ages 5-18 years of age.
- CLIP is a medically based treatment approach providing
24 hour psychiatric care staffed by Psychiatrists, Master level Social
Workers, RN's and other clinical experts.
- CLIP is psychiatric treatment provided in a secure and
highly structured setting designed to assess, treat and stabilize youth
diagnosed psychiatric and behavioral disorders.
- CLIP is individualized treatment provided through the
use of evidenced based practices designed to increase the youth's skills
and adaptive functioning with a focus on reintegration back into a
community setting, as quickly as possible.
- CLIP is a treatment opportunity for parents to learn new skills and strategies to effectively understand and manage their child's
illness.
- CLIP is an opportunity to work with CLIP treatment
staff and community providers in order to develop the necessary supports
and resources in the community to adequately support the family and
youth through the transition and return home.
- CLIP is an opportunity to evaluate medications in a
controlled setting which is unparalleled.
- CLIP is a mental health treatment course, not a
place for your child to live indefinitely.
- CLIP is funded by Federal and State Medicaid
dollars, but private insurance and other income sources can be billed,
if applicable.

- CLIP is not a "placement".
- CLIP is not a residential program where a youth
can stay until adulthood.
- CLIP is not a hopeless last attempt at
treatment.
- CLIP will not keep a child longer than
medically necessary.
